5 Inch Lift for Cherokee XJ: 3" Suspension Lift + Budget Lift
Installing a budget lift can add nearly 2 inches.

For this lift set up, we installed a budget lift kit on top of a 3" Rusty's Kit for a total ride height of nearly 5 inches. This installation is very straight forward and just as simple as adding a budget lift to a stock height Jeep. When going this high, you should consider adding longer lower control arms in the front and adding axle shims to the rear to prevent drive line wear. We also added brake line extension brackets to the rear. The biggest snags we has during this installation were the front control arms which were a pain to get aligned and the rear brake line extension also took some time to get installed. Below are a few pictures of a 2001 with 5 inches of lift and various tire sizes, captioned accordingly.
